Tribute to Billie Eilish Orchestral Covers

This unique, all-ages event took place in Eilish’s hometown Highland Park, and benefited Billie’s fans via local Los Angeles youth music education nonprofits, including Little Kids Rock, YOLA, and LAYO.

Los Angeles – September 14, 2019 – On Saturday, September 14, an orchestra conducted by Smashing Pumpkins collaborator Meena Ysanne performed Billie Eilish cover songs in Eilish’s hometown of Highland Park, Los Angeles. The event took place at the historic Highland Park Ebell Club and was an ALL-AGES FREE show.

Having worked as a string arranger, conductor, violinist and cellist with numerous rock and pop artists including Elton John, Christina Perri, David J. of Love & Rockets and Michael Stipe of R.E.M., conductor Meena Ysanne was excited to cover songs of alternative artist Billie Eilish with her accomplished orchestra. Brooklyn-based musician Treya Lam and Silverlake-based musician Carré Callaway aka Queen Kwong were the vocalists for the event. Their combined talents made for a unique and unforgettable experience.

The all-ages event was complimentary to Billie Eilish’s fans.

Billie Eilish fans of all ages were welcome to attend the performance, and encouraged to sing along, which Billie’s fans are known for doing, and to capture the show on their phones. After the show, audience members were invited to share their thoughts about Eilish’s music on camera with SiriusXM host, Lyndsey Parker. They also had a chance to interact with Meena.

“I’m excited to celebrate Billie Eilish with my orchestra,” says Meena.

"It seems to me that Billie Eilish shares a lineage with many of the legendary alternative musicians I've been honored to work with.”

“The fragile beauty of these emotional, special, alternative songs has touched so many people. It was inspiring to perform for an all-ages audience of her fans, and that the show is accessible to all" - Meena Ysanne

Capacity at the theater was limited to only 250 people.
